We are pleased to introduce the GDC Alcaraz 100 MW, the newest project by Blackberry AIF in Alcaraz, Spain, designed to meet the growing infrastructure needs for artificial intelligence and supercomputing. With a capacity of 100 MW, GDC Alcaraz becomes a cornerstone in our network of interconnected green data centers, aligned with BAIF’s strategy to transform Iberia into a global technological hub. This center follows the same philosophy as GDC Córdoba: leveraging renewable energy, particularly solar, and a robust energy capacity that mitigates supply challenges typical of highly saturated areas like Madrid and Barcelona.

Blackberry AIF’s Connectivity and Low-Latency Strategy
Our green data center architecture is designed not only for capacity but for the critical performance of data latency, a crucial factor for AI workloads. We understand that geographic proximity is essential to minimize latency; thus, GDC Alcaraz will be part of a carefully designed network ensuring efficient and secure data flow between centers, connecting Alcaraz with Córdoba and, in the future, with strategically located hubs leading towards Madrid and Barcelona. This strategy allows us to address the technical latency challenge and offers high-performance value for clients in sectors requiring intensive computational capabilities.
Energy Sustainability and Scalability
With a 100 MW solar self-consumption infrastructure, GDC Alcaraz is part of our commitment to clean and self-sufficient energy. At BAIF, we believe the technology of tomorrow must be supported by a robust, sustainable, and energy-viable data center network, capitalizing on high-energy availability zones without the limits currently affecting Madrid and Barcelona.
This project is not only an infrastructure advancement but a firm step toward establishing a green data center ecosystem in Iberia, prepared for the most demanding digital era needs and positioned to place the region as a leader in artificial intelligence and supercomputing.
